'Have a new SB live! 5.1 installed.

I am looking for DOS divers and see that SBEINIT.COM and SBECFG.exe are listed for this purpose.

However, I've not been able to find/DL these files. :-(

Are thes files indeed what I need for this purpose?

I mean to run pure DOS and not the thingy under windows of any ilk.

Thank you,
RE

You should have them in your windows program files under creative\sblive\dosdrv.
Just copy the files in the dosdrv folder and put them in a folder you want.
Here is my setup in dos.

SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6
SET CTSYN=C:\A-SBLIVE
C:\A-SBLIVE\SBEINIT.COM

As you can see, I made a folder called:
A-SBLIVE

Windows shows 2.75 megs in the folder.
Works good for me.
Good luck!

Kelly's suggestion is a good one. It's the way I have my card work in Dos. Just a few more tips:

Copy to that folder, the file "ctsyn.ini" in the c:\windows directory, and "default.ecw" in c:\windows\system directory. In "autoexec.bat" change the line "set ctsyn=" to point to you new folder.

Run the SB Live setup in Windows and uncheck the "Dos Drivers" option.

Open the "ctsyn.ini" file with a text editor and change the "Waveset=default.ecw" to the current path where your SB drivers are located. Be sure the settings in that file match the "set blaster=" environments in your autoexec.bat file. For example, if your settings look like this:

[ctsyn.drv]
.
.
MPUPort=330
SBPort=220
SBIRQ=7
SBDMALO=1
SBDMAHI=5

Then in Autoexec.bat

SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 H5 P330 T6

Be sure that you have "emm386.exe" loaded in your "config.sys" file in order for "sbeinit.com" to work.
