I am trying to reload a 75mhz Pentium. It has a sound blaster 16 card in it. I tried my Win 98 boot disk, but it could detect the cd rom. Is there a universal driver for the sound blaster card or do you know of any thing I can try.

Try this, it should work (but is the long way around): get ms-dos 6.22, install it get windows 3.1, install it goto creative website, download drivers for your sb16 card for win 3.1, install them download/install drivers for your cd-rom drive. now, if you have cd-rom support, copy all the files from the win95 directory on your win95 cd to the hard disk, perferably c:\cabs exit windows (make sure you are in pure dos mode, not a dos box in windows) type cd\ type deltree /y c:\windows type cd cabs run setup. win 95 should install from the hard disk. if it asks for files, point it to the c:\cabs directory. (hint: don't delete this directory when done.) you may need to get sb16 drivers from the creative website to access the cd-rom drive.

Is it a generic CD-ROM that plugs into the soundblaster 16? If so you need to download the correct drivers. Goto www.windrivers.com/company.htm (This is a good starting point for any driver download) Click on the CD-ROMs icon, then Creative Labs, and follow links to thier drivers page. You will need to download both Soundblaster 16 drivers and the correct Generic 2 or 4 speed CD-ROM driver. Help is available to ID the correct drivers. You will have to load MS-DOS and the downloaded drivers onto your harddrive to enable your CD-ROM but after that you can install Windows 95 direct from CD or copy it onto your harddrive if you wish to do so.
