I'm trying to get my CD-ROM drive to work in DOS. It is an external PCMCIA CD-ROM drive, and from research I've determined I have to somehow load socket services in DOS. Is there somewhere I can download a toshiba socket services driver, or more preferably, a boot disk that will load it automatically?
We are Microsoft; resistance is futile.

PC DOS 7 (2000) includes "Card and Socket Services" Software:

2 companies sell C&SS Software:Cardware7: http://www.tssc.de/
Cardsoft for DOS: http://www.systemsoft.com/l-2/l-3/products-other.htm
I also found this link but I believe it only supports 16bit PCMCIA type I & II Cards, files dated '93/'94, as well as wether or not it is legal to use within the terms of the license agreement:http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=30447
DO NOT BAN THE MESSENGER

......also check the manufacturer of the CD Drive as they may provide MS-DOS6 or compatible drivers which will negate the need for C&SS software
DO NOT BAN THE MESSENGER
