is thier any way I can get scan disk to automatically fix the errors with out putting something heavy on the f key?

take a peek at:
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\SCANDISK.INI

assuming you're using the scandisk from Win9x

try this when starting scandisk....

scandisk c: /autofix /surface
