You need to specify the "path." For example, when I install Whenox98, I always copy the "win98" folder (directory) to the C: drive, so, if I'm booted in A:

I type (the A: exists)

md C:\win98 (ENTER KEY)

copy X:\win98 *.* C:\win98 (ENTER KEY)

where "X" is the CD letter

You can tell what the path is, by typing path from the prompt.

Do a search on Google, type

"dos path"

just like that, into Google, in quotes.

You can change the path by specifying "path="

Find yourself "doshelp" and do some research there.

The internal commands:

cd
md
dir
copy

etc, are always available. The external commands:

xcopy
debug
format

etc, must, as name says, be in the path or in the current directory.

OR, you can tell the command interpreter where they are. Like this:

c:\utils\debug
[enter]

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.
