Is there a way to run a batch file in Windows 2000/XP when or just after a file is moved into a specified directory?

Thanks.
Erol.

Do you mean detecting when a certain file is moved to a certain directory, and everytime that happens run a batch file, is that it?

That doesn't look easy. Probably can be done with an application that would stay resident on the memory. That's beyond my current skill, though.

However, if you want to move a file to a directory and then run a batch file, not having to actually detect that the file has been moved, it's easier. I mean, you could just make the batch file and add the moving process on its begginning. That's a lot different then detecting its moval, though.
