I ran a search here but did not get an answer.
Does anyone know how to run a simple batch file as an unseen process.
echo off erase c:\junk.txt
Not minimized. Not on the Task Bar. I can put it into the registry to run at start up. That is no problem. But I cannot hide the DOS Window and/or task bar icon.
________________________________________________________________________________________ well u didnt search very well i answered you question with the near exact same title to some krundll guy.
the process take 3 files. one launch.bat one invis.vbs and one (your program)
in launch.bat(this files runs your program silently) put in...
I thank you for the information. I'll check out the web site. I will try it out after the holiday.
I take exception to your statement though. Quote: "well u didnt search very well."
I typed in several keywords in Computing Net search, DOS forum. I spent over an hour and if there was any real information in any of the hits they only explained how to minimize the window, not any vbscripts.
To be fair and for an experiment, just now, I put the following exact words into the search (upper right corner of this page): Run Batch File Invisible
No question by krundll came up, out of 40 hits. Maybe your post became invisible? :)
Let me clarify...nathan's post seem to be a solution for my posted problem.
My frustration comes from the fact of searching Computing Net and coming up empty on krundel (krundll) from BEFORE nathan posted. Yes, NOW that nathan posted and you provided the correct spelling....there is no search problem that way. Typing in krundel, naturally brings it up. I am frustrated that it refused to come up originally. And that my search terms did not bring it up whatsoever.
Justin did have a discussion with us and I told him I never felt I had any real problems with the search function. Now it looks like it isn't doing that well.
I understand...lots of us have the same problem. No way I'd have found krundel without the clues you guys provided and it still took me 45 minutes. I just had to fish around until the little bell rang. I know I tried many many phrasings and username guesses before anything even close popped up.
