Re-joining hd partitions with fdisk?

Hi! After reading lots and lots of FAQs and forums, I'm still baffled: How do I join two existing hd partitions using fdisk (Win98's DOS version)? The partitions are empty, so data loss is not an issue. I've gone through all the options, deleting extended and logical drives, hence thinking that the now-unused partitions would "merge" with the primary partition. Not so - if I try formatting the primary partition, the extra space from the other partitions just doesn't "show up". I hope somebody can help me with this question, which is probably really simple to answer :o) Thanks in advance, Jacob

fdisk will not "merge" partitions- you need to delete ALL partitions and make a new one.

not possible with fdsik...first even if you could rejoin it must be of the same format as the other...I tell you what you should is go to www.downloads.com and get ranish partition manager this may help...I made a "rejoin" using fat before but I do not recommend doing this..
The best solution is PowerQuests Partion Manager 7.0 works wonderfully!

When you refer to "deleting" a partition, does that mean deleting the data on it too, or simply the partiton; leaving the data intact?
