Hello,
I have recently got ahold of some wonderful old DOS games, all of which run great via the Windoze "pretend" DOS, but am getting sever headaches from the refresh rate being 60hz in games that run at 640x480 in DOS mode (they run at 120hz in Win)
Does anyone know of any commands or easy-to-use utilities to change the refresh rates around? i have tried a few from the net without success, and am wishing like hell i had the ease of use that Scitech Display Doctor gave me when i used it ages ago(current video card is not compatible with SDD).
Sorry for being a total newbie, but would love a solution to this prob. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

If the UniVESA driver included with Display Doctor doesn't work for your card, you are pretty much out of luck, I'm afraid. A lot of the newer video cards do not work well in DOS. I have an ATI 128 Rage card sitting on my desk here that I had to pull and replace with an Expert@Play because it simply wouldn't work properly under DOS\Win 3.11. Very annoying.

You need a freeware program called VBEHZ...search the 'net. Once you get it, add the lines to AUTOEXEC.BAT and you will have a higher refresh rate on DOS...I run mine at 180Hz- it's smooth! :-)
