Hi:

I am trying to write a dos batch file that will redirect the output of a command to a variable. There really doesn't seem to be a good way of doing this. If anybody has a clue as to how to call a command, and redirect the output of that command to an environnment variable within a dos batch file, your help would be most appreciated.

Sincerely,
Dan

Dan,

redirect the output of the command to result1.dat and then apply Laurence's bat file trick #33.
http://home7.inet.tele.dk/batfiles/main/batricks.htm#33

Hope that helps,
Michael
