Does anyone know how to force ramdrive.sys to assign itself to a certain drive letter? I.E. as far as my research is concerned ramdrive.sys takes the first available drive letter on the system. I have my Device=ramdrive.sys 8192 /E command in my config.sys file, which specifies size/extended memory, but my research of ramdrive hasn't found any way to force a drive assignment. Thanks

Don't think you can.

This one allows drive letter assignment (posted previously):

"These RAM disks can be installed *ON THE COMMAND LINE* (and hence in autoexec.bat for example, see below). This way users can even *CHOOSE THE DRIVE LETTER* to be used."

Hi,
I don't think it is at all possible
with ramdrive.sys but try xmsdsk from here
http://www.opus.co.tt/dave/utils.htm
which does all you want and more

I'll go check out that link and see if I can use it. It'd be nice to be able to insert it anywhere in my autoexec.bat instead of being confined to my config.sys on bootup. Thanks for the input

No problem - at least the program comes well endorsed - it is a bit more versatile than the M$ offering.
