I've got a SCSI HDD recently, 2nd handed...
I've already Low-Level Formatted it.
But... when I try to "fdisk" the drive with "create primary dos partition", the machine is hanged and stuck at the screen "verifying drive integrity, 0% complete"...I also try to "initialize" the drive in WinXP, after 1 minute a msgbox popup and says "Unspecified error (80004005)." With Error source "LDM"
Anyone please help me out...!!
This is the 1st time I use SCSI HardDisk. Will it be the Harddisk problem or will it be any jumper setting problem??
Thanks!! KENNY

SCSI is like EIDE at the FDISK level. You are out of luck with Microsoft utilities unless you can FDISK. Select FDISK (4) for information and see if you find something on the drive. Then try to remove partitions and start from scratch. But if you low level formatted you are going to need to try something like Partition Magic to format the drive. It is even possible there was something wrong with the drive when you got it.
Do you have another controller? SCSI can be influenced by the controller more than IDE is. Some years ago they used to recommend you format with the controler you are going to use because switching controllers could cause a problem. The controller might be worth a shot.
