I need my computer to run in pure DOS for a certain type program. Someone tried to make me a copy of a boot disk they had but it was a copy of a copy and wouldn't work. I'm very new at this and I clicked on my ms-dos prompt in Windows and it said it was version 4.10.2222 if that means anything. Can anyone tell me how to make a 3 1/2" floppy that will boot me into pure DOS. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You have Windows 98se To make a MS-DOS Bootdisk (MS-DOS 7.10) for your system. Click on the Start Button. Click Settings. Click on Control Panel. Then Add/Remove Programs Icon Next click on Startup Disk. Insert Blank 3½" HD Disk into drive A and click Create Disk
You now have a Ms-DOS Bootdisk of the correct version for your PC with CD-ROM Startup files as well!

If all you need to do is run in DOS mode you can just click Start>Shut Down and select "Restart in MS-DOS mode"

Pure DOS is real mode. That is to say it is anything that does not multi task like windows. Any boot disk will put you there as will restart in DOS mode.
