I have a PC with two HD in the IDE primary and an ATAPI CD-Recorder ASUS
CRW-5232AS in the IDE secondary master (I have not a CD-Reader).The first HD has a MS-DOS 6.00 and the second HD has a Windows 98SE.
The recorder works fine with Nero 6 with the Windows 98SE instaled in the second HD and with the first annulled HD by PC´s setup.
I download the Beta 3 release of DosCDroast package, but when I try to copy a cd in MS-DOS 6.00 pure (not in a Windows box), I obtain the following message (partial):
....
CDROM device found...
HA #0 - SCSI ID #0 - ASUS CRW-5232AS 1.02Error: ´SET READ PARAMETERS´command failed in device 0:0:0
Illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 20h 00h)
INSERT DESTINATION DISC AND PRESS ENTER...
(enter)
Error: Unable to find a known CD-Recorder device!
....I have try different options in the DosCDroast´s setup, but they have not worked...
My config.sys includes the following line:
DEVICEHIGH =C:\CDROM\VIDE-CDD.SYS /D:CDROMx52
And my autoexec.bat includes the line:
LH C:\DOS\MSCDEX /D:CDROMX52 /M:10
On the other hand, the Golden Hawk´s website says:
"Supported Operating Systems
* IDE/USB CDROM devices are supported under Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000* The 32-bit DOS version also supports IDE/USB CDROM devices.
* The 16-bit DOS version does not support IDE/USB CDROM devices (and never
will)".
Is really DosCDroast a collection of programs to use IDE/ATAPI cd-writers under DOS systems or I am making something wrong?...Help me...!!! and sorry for my bad English...

It would appear you CDRW Drive is not listed
in the supported hardware list.If you only have one optical drive, you could
first copy the CD contents to the hard drive
then burn to CDR/CDRW.If using pure MS DOS 6.22, have you 590K base
memory available ??
CDRoast is based on GoldenHawk Technology
and the developers have undertaken to further
develope the product, therefore anything
stated on the Goldenhawk website is not
relevent as it is seriously out-
