Hi!
I've been searching the internet the past few days for a program to print screen from DOS but haven't had any luck.
Any recommendations on what software to use?
Sure hope you guys can help me out. Appreciate any help.
Thanks
Ravi.

Which screen - a DOS character mode screen, or a Graphic screen?

For a character screen, Shift-Print Screen is built into DOS. This assumes your printer is compatible.

For graphics mode, there is a driver available in DOS for the IBM Proprinter and equivalents.

There is also some third party programs such as Pizzaz Plus which will capture color screens and allow them to be saved and then printed out.

There are quite a few programs available if you search for them.

Re: Screen Capture for DOS

Try Screen Thief v2.01 which is freeware and is available on my DOS Resource Page at PowerLoad (Link above)

Extract from README.TXT

To run Screen Thief with the default settings, change to the "\ST" directory and simply type "ST". Screen Thief will then be installed and you can run whatever program you need to grab a screen from. To actually grab a screen, press the <CTRL>, <ALT> and <T> keys together and you will hear a clicking noise from your PC speaker as Screen Thief is working. The image file produced will be in colour BMP format and given a name consisting of the first 6 letters of the name of the program currently being run followed by a number, eg, "FILENA01.BMP". This file will be saved to the current directory but you can specify a different directory when you run Screen Thief as follows:
ST C:\CAPTURE

Look and see if there is a file graphics.com included in your version of DOS. If so, load it before you do a shift print screen and the graphics should print.

Thanks a lot.
The screen thief program works O.K but I don't want to save it in a file. I'm trying to get the screen printed directly (hardcopy) 'coz I have to capture a few hundred screens. I'm runing some simulation and will probably lose track of which screen is for what item.
Can't seem to find the graphics.com file. I'm using the DOS 6.2
