Can someone send me a diagram/picture off the net or if you can scan one & email it to me the correct wire placement for an AT power supply? What I'm trying to say is which colors go where. I know the colors have to be properly matched or you will blow a breaker when you plug it in. There are four wires black, blue, white, & brown. I won the power supply off of Ebay and I need to add a switch so I can use it on my pc.

Usually there's a wiring decal - found one image here (B&W though). You'll likely want to install the 'push button' type - those red paddle switches are pretty outdated.

Those old AT boxes should be fairly inexpensive these days - I picked up a few for a couple of bucks each (CDN) last summer. Still, if it just needs a switch, should be an easy fix.

Jboy:

If you dont mind me asking what did you type in your search engine to get that diagram of the switches to come up? I did a search & just got a list of all types of power supplies (none computer related though) by the way, I got the power supply working. (Thanks)

Ahh - see if I can remember the sequence.

Google:

"power supply" "wiring diagram"

(quotes included)

then under Search within results

PC switch

... and then I clicked on Google Images - it was the only picture.

Glad it helped : )

Hi Skip

Yeah, that'd work. I have seen better diagrams than the one I posted, just couldn't track one down as readily.

Some neat stuff in Google Image though - great concept.
