Hi.

Exist some way to add Power Managament to my Dos 7.10 ?

My goal is turn off my Pc with only one short touch of my power button, the same effect with I turn off my pc from windows using the same power off button.

At the moment, I must push and keep pushing the power off button about 2 sec for turn off my pc. ( forced power off )

Thanks in advance.

Haven't tried it, but this site's shutdown utility claims to work from DOS

Give me ambiguity or give me something else

Another is ATXOFF.COM which I use and it works great. Just place it in your PATH somewhere.

It's a good day when you learn something

Thanks for your replies, but maybe my english is not good enought...

This both programs shutdown my pc trought command line, and I don't need this method.

I looking for a method ( maybe a TRS program ) witch made a "safe" shutdown ( clear disk cache ) of my pc trought by PUSH power off BUTTON, not by command line and not a "forced" push power off.

Thanks

I don't know if that is possible on an ATX machine - - you could always reach around the back and shut off the main power there.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else

Check in the BIOS CMOS Setup options for power management. Some of them have an option for the action of the power button. One is to automatically power off when the button is pressed and released, instead of requiring you to hold it.

I don't think you can have a 'safe' shutdown by pushing the power switch, whether there is a delay or not.

That site is well known here in the DOS forum, and (the floppy set anyways) consists of the DOS from Win9x packaged with an installer as well as a variety of readily available freeware tools. In a sense, it's nothing you couldn't create for yourself (more or less).

Personally I'm not that fond of it, but, depending on your familiarity with DOS, it may prove useful.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else
