Hi All

I have a MATSHIITA CR-506 CDROM Drive connected to a DPT PM2124A PCI SCSI Host Adapter, I tryed booting my PC using the cdGOD boot disk that has drivers for about every kind of cdrom BUT the drivers that are suppose to make this cdrom work dose not I get the following message:
------------
Interface board or CD-ROM drive not ready

Insure that drive power is on and drive cables correctly attached
------------

but the CD-ROM drive cables are attached correctly and the drive DOSE work because when I take the bootdisk out and let it start with the installed windows 95 on it the CDROM is working.

I realy tryed everything i know off :(((

Just in case some of you are wondering if it is working within Win95 why do you wanna get it to work via a boot disk from dos:

EXACTLY, because I couldnt get this CDROM to work at all when I got this 2nd hand pc therefore I couldnt install anything on it so the only way to go round this was to use the 3 disks that come with win NT workstation and they automaticaly detect the cdrom drive and then i can install windows worktation and on top of that install win95 but that gives me so many problems and corruptions etc etc because of the cluster size anyway I just wanna get this cdrom working so i can install what I want on the PC

Thanks for any kind person who may help me

Are your Config.sys and Autoexec.bat from Windows 95 still on the hard drive? If they are take the driver DEVICE lines (Usually 2 lines for SCSI)from the config.sys and put them in a config.sys on the boot disk. Also put the MSCDEX line in the AUTOEXEC.BAT in an autoexec.bat on the boot disk. To make the boot disk permanently valid, put the files referred to in the Device lines on the boot floppy and change the path. (That is to say change C:\DOS\MSCDEX to A:\MSCDEX etc.) If you find these files the problem is solved, but if you cannot, you have to find universal drivers to replace the ones that came with your CD-ROM.
