I have burned my holiday pictures to CD-R but will not play on my dvd player can someone help me please????

Is this DVD player a DVD rom on your computer or is it a DVD player connected to your TV? If it's on your computer does it recognize the disk with the pictures? If not there's probably a problem with the DVD rom or the way the disk was burned. Did you close the recording session?

If it's connected to your TV then it's going to depend on how you recorded it. If you just burned the pictures to the disk then they are nothing more than files on a disk and your player may not be able to 'play' them. It's going to depend on its capabilities and how the disk was recorded.
