Ok, I had a problem earlier with getting a cdrom to work. I am using a windows 98 boot disk. I have located the proper driver for the cdrom.

I have just found out that I need to load pcmcia drivers as well. I have no idea how to do this. I am not exactly a dos wizard. I need to load the pcmcia drivers, then load the cd rom drivers so i can access the cd rom.

can anyone, anyone at all help me?

I have checked toshibas site and no worthwhile info was found.

There is a Port/Noteworthy PCMCIA CD ROM driver for DOS on Toshiba's Portege 3010 resource page. The file is called p301cdrd.exe.

http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/p301cdrd.exe

Installation instructions are included.

Other than that, perhaps you could try PCMCIA managers like Cardsoft or Phoenix Card Manager, although I think these are commercial programs.
