PCMCIA card in dos for cd-rom

Help ! I have a compacq 1120t that has been erased I had 3.11 installed and finaly recieved the pc-card cdrom and am ready to put win95 full install on it but it will not reconise the card slot in dos??????? what do I do I am not very good in dos I just started learning sence I recieved this notebook. some one please help BTW I downloaded the 6.21 to 6.22 setup should I go ahead and put that on?

Pcmcia is a very touchy thing on laptops Whay You need to do is make sure that You have pccard services installed on the computer i'm not sure about win 3.11 and how it acts on a lap top but with 95 there is a lot of different things that play a part the registry is a solid on i could use a bit more information like what kind of cdrom is it external i'm assumeing but what manufacturer as well do You have pc card services of any kind on there if not You really need to look into getting it so You can interface with the pcmcia slots.. l8tr.

I am running dos 6.21 it is a Archos minicd pcmcia cd-rom I have nothing else that is pcmcia so I dont know if it works I can not install win 95 with out getting the cd-rom to work. Let me know what else I need to put thanks for all the help I can get
