This is no good if people have access to your pc,as removing the battery on the motherboard ,will get rid of the password.

Well of course it will, Ashley. I gave a response that easy for a user to do. So, what's your answer? Lock the machine up? Remove the HDD everytime you power down and leave the machine unattended?

Yes, you can set a BIOS password. That will keep people from easily accessing your machine.

However, if you're referring to Hacking through a backdoor program or a Trojan (over the net), then you need to run a reliable anti-virus program and be VERY careful about what you download.

If you want a sys "NO ONE CAN HACK" you need lots of layers of defence.

1: Get a boot loader with password facilities (like XOSL free on the net)

2:Get a floppy drive lock(about £10.00)

3:Get Winsecure-it

4:Test your passwords with buck shot basic.

5:Use a removeable HD

6:Encrypt your inportant files.

7:Do not have your main pc conected to the net.

XOSL Free www.xosl.com
Winsecure-it Free www.sguft.com
Buckshot basic Free www.scarlettgroup.com
Encryption Free www.fasttrackit.net
