My dos system runs my office including the employee punch clock. It is on a Lantastic ver 8 network.

My employees clock in and out on my Dos computer. One of them is playing with the time set in DOS before clocking in and out to pad his pay. Can I password protect this feature? Please don't lecture me on having to fire all evil snakey employees. This one is very important to my operation.

Since TIME is part of COMMAND.COM the only
thing I can think of is to patch COMMAND.COM
so that TIME is ????.

For PC Dos 2000
Make a boot disk.
Include the sys command.
Add a hex editer to the floppy.
Copy command.com file to command.co_
Start up the hex edit program.
** Make sure you are NOT in read only mode. **
Open command.com
Goto hex offset 0000BDDB
Edit time to whatever you want. (Must be 4 char. Uppercase)
Save file

Reboot from floppy to test.
