Hello. I need to go into BIOS and set my partitions so I can load DOS 6.22. Could someone advise me which screen to go to and how to set the settings? I had Linux, tried to erase it, and ended up messing up the partitions. Now I need to go back and reset. Please be somewhat specific. I'm new to the OS's. Thanks muc

A couple of things. The easiest first. You don't do anything with partitions in the BIOS. Now, if you had both DOS 6.22 and Linux on a machine you proably had something called LILO controlling which OS you booted into. If you deleted that partition, I dunno what happens. I assume the boot menu is no longer there and you can't boot your system properly. If I were you I would fdisk and delete all partitions then put one back for DOS. Format that partition and then install DOS 6.22 on there. This will destroy everything on your drive, however. If you need to back something up, load up with a DOS boot disk and copy things off onto some sort of media first before you fdisk and format the drive. If that's what you want to do, tell me and I'll explain better the usage of fdisk and format.

Try using a boot disk and typing "fdisk /mbr" first.

the command "Fdisk /mbr" is only for dos master boot records, it wont fix his system.
follow the top instructions. get a bootdisk, boot your system... i recommend getting www.aefdisk.com (aefdisk) on the disk first, since it handles other partitions (from other os's) quite well. - W0rm

It depends on whether the problem is just booting the system from the hard drive or not. If the partition table is still present fdisk /mbr may work.
