Any error message(s)? Have you tried using a fresh copy of fdisk.exe (ie. is your copy of fdisk corrupt)? What brand/size of drive are you trying to fdisk? Have you removed the logical drive(s) from the extended partition first?

did you have a disk manager with your hard disk? If so this can be used to modify partitions. Try going to the manifactuers website?

Alex - Seagate's DiskGo only works with Seagate drives. Fujitsu with theirs and Western Digital Lifeguard with WD drives.

OnTrack DiskGo works with any.

To remove a "stubborn" partition go here and download DELPART
http://www2.netquest.com/tech/MyPC/utilitie.htm
BOOTKILL (same site) easily removes master boot records - good for virus infected ones. Write a new master boot record afterwards.

To write zeros - and thus delete irrecoverably all data on an entire DISK - search for WIPE. It works with all IDE drives that I am aware of.

Just incase you haven't already wiped your hard disc completely
Try to find an application which shows you your 'master boot record' such as Hex Workshop or Norton Disc Editor.
It should be noted that the last five lines reffer to the partition table. Complicated to look at but if fill the relevant parts with zeros then you delete the partitions.
I don't mind checking that your removing the correct parts.
Failing that there is a lovely bit of software made by Power Quest called Partition Magic which will do the job.
