Wasnt there a Packard Bell Menu System for DOS way back when?? It may have had a "desktop" like enviroment...icons, cursors... ??

There was a Packard-Bell desktop for windows.
I assume you could add or subtract from it.

Yes there is a Packard Bell Desktop for DOS, but as stated W98 wanted to clarify.
It is an icon based menu and each ICON can be configured to launch a program, also includes an MSDOS tutorial. I belive the extent of customising is to change the Icon and the icon Text.

The best way to describe it is as a program launcher!
