thanks for your time !!!
I just made up a new self-built computer which contains Pentium 4, buteverything is not running!!!!!since this is my first time made the P4, so i have no idea why the whole system is not running!!!
the motherboard is Abit-TH7-RAID, cpu is 1.5 GHZ, 2 of 256 MB pc800 rambus (kingston),300 w enermax power supply, meet p4 case..
after i have connected all the ATX power cables and jumpers to the board, and of course, cpu,ram,video-card,CMOS....all the things to end.
and then i turned it on, the power supply is on, cpu is runnig and the board led is on too, but the hard-drive hasn't load and no ram checkin,
nothing displayed on the monitor. BTW, the board has an LED device to display the "POST" code, and POST shows "00" whenever i power on the computer, so......please tell me the problems that I can fix it!
thank you.

I had the same problem. It turns out there is a new ATX power supply spec called ATX12V that is needed by P4 motherboards. (Who knew?) You need to buy a new power supply, and make sure you look for one that is P4 compatible or P4 "available". The new power supply has two new power connections to the motherboard - one is a 4 pin, in a square configuration, the other looks alot like the old style AT power connections.
Hope that helps...
Eric

to Whom it may Concern,
Hoping someone can help me I am building a prototype P4 system which I would like to duplicate I got all the parts together, got the whole computer working the first time i turned it on. Two days later I push the power buton and the fans start for a second and then turn off the system never even goes into POST. Have a Guess is it the switch the power supply or the Motherboard.

Erik,
I would suggest you look at how your motherboard is grounded. Make sure you've got a real P4 compatable case and that the MB isn't touching anything metal. My bro had this problem when he first built his machine. Worked fine for the first day, then nothing. As an alternative, I'd check the ram as well.
