Wondering if anyone still has the old DOS shell that Packard Bell used to give with their computers. It was used on their computers about the time DOS 5.0 and/or Win 3.1 arrived, and consisted of screens of clickable blocks. Each block was for an individual program, and clicking the box would open the program/application. Any help?

Do you mean DOS Shell? That was a standard part of MS-DOS and PC-DOS for a while. You can get the update to add it to 6.22 also.

Thanks, but that's not it. It was a software shall that P.B. made and installed on top of MS-DOS. Was a nice little graphic shell so one didn't have to use the command line or the text-based, line-style shell of DOS. Likely that no one ever saved a copy of the disk. Oh, well.

Hi.

Here is a website that has something called Packard Bell Menu System. Don't know if it is the same one you are talking about.

It is located about half way down the page.

That would be nice project, hmmm (I know next to nothing about programming). It's a great little menu for the remaining DOSers in the world. But, that Packard Bell support button. . . :>)
