I have a strange problem and I think its down to design

When the pc starts the geforce looks for composite and if it is detected the card will enable composite output that part is ok :-)

The problem is the Composite input on the tv is automatic if it detects composite signal it switches to composite mode if not it stays in tv mode

when the pc starts up because the geforce and tv are both looking for composite neither of them initialize :-(

I was just wondering if theres a way round this without getting a new tv ?

Maybe give the general hardware forum a try - there is no 'BIOS/DOS'

without the bios I dont think Dos would be much use ( bios calls ?)
Dos and bios also can both run flat bins :-)

Without the BIOS computers wouldn't run, period - it's OS independent.

Fail to see the purpose of listing it in your 'specs' (or what you mean by 'flat bins' - binaries?) Sure calls can be made to the BIOS by the OS

.. whatever - good luck with your question

I fail to see your point in making an argument ?

sorry If I was not 100% clear..

I was talking about running composite video output not only in dos but also in the bios thats why I listed it in system, I think it was verry relevant to my problem

'flat bins' - binaries? yes mainly refering to the mbr at that point if I dont have output on my boot loader how can I see my boot menu ?

but thanks for trying to help :-) I think im going to get a new TV or see if I can get myself a small cheap LCD

Not arguing - just don't understand why you listed the BIOS as part of your operating system - that's like saying "and my car has wheels too!"

You don't really have anything relevant listed in your specs at all, but this does seem like more of a modern hardware question, not really a DOS one.

Your terminology is strange to me, but hey, that's your privilege.

I probably should have just listed I would also require display output from bios in the message but at the time I just stuck it in the os box not realy thinking :-)

your are correct most the hardware is not realy old they are all parts I have left over from when I upgraded my PC

I just switched the system to vector Linux, nvidia have good driver support with Tv output.
