Please help!

I am trying to play some old dos based games and I have no sound. My sound card is a Yamaha OPL3-SAx, but I dont seem to have any onboard sound. Also there is no setting in BIOS to turn sound on and off. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanx

Do you have the dos drivers installed? I have the same type sound card & have the dos drivers. If you want, I will email them to you when I get off of work or sometime tomorrow because I get off late today.

Most games need the following line in the autoexec.bat:
set blaster=a220 i5 d1
If the card is old, it is i7.When you start your game in dos ,run the setup and configure the sound for the usual emulations starting with sound blaster pro and going to the others if need be.Games often use emulations for music and for voice separetely.Music is often FM or Yamaha etc.Voice is often sound blaster pro, sound blaster etc.If you don't know the correct IRQ or DMA, check in your sytem properties under Windows.Use the data you find even if you boot with a boot disk(much easier way for dos games).Good luck.
