Ok i have been trying to play these old dos games (Kings Quest 5, Full Throttle, Robin Hood Conquest of the Longbow) and for some odd reason every time i install the game it does not detect my sound card. I have a Creative SB Live! card and it says from the device manager in windows that SB16 Emulation is running fine but i dont know. I am running on Win98se. Now i have tried to run it through MSDos mode with Sound Blaster set as my audio source and it says failed to initialize audio source and loads the game without it please help i have had this problem for a while and would love to get it fixed, if you need more info just ask me.

Try running the diagnostics tool for your sound card.
I have the same card.
This is what is in my autoexec.bat below for windows...SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6
SET CTSYN=C:\WINDOWS
C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\SBLIVE\DOSDRV\SBEINIT.COMHope this works...

I have that already in my autoexec.bat, but i got something interesting that i found when loading up the comp, i switched the places of Himen.sys and EMM386.sys(i think that was what they were called) and on start up it said EMM386 not installed Memory Manager not loaded or something, how do i install it, and i cant remember what is the dos name of Diagnostics tool to see if SB16 emulation is working.

Please help, I want to play Raptor, Call of the Shadows. It asks me what sound card, and does not autodetec, tere are several choises, Including Sound Blaster, AdLib, and Roland something something... Anyway, the only one that comes Close to working is the Sound Blaster, but is REALLY laggy and makes the game unplayable, I tried a program called VDSound, it emulates sound blaster, for dos, but it only got the music to work, not the Sound FX, PLEASE HELP!!!!
