Reply: (edit)Most DOS software will run quite successfully in W9x, but to get sound the IRQ etc needs to be Sound Blaster compatible, I believe the ESS are usually compatible. I would suggest to go into BIOS and in the PNP/PCI Configuration section you set Plug&Play O/S to NO. Back in Windows go to Device manager and your Sound Card will need to be set to the following values: Address 220 DMA 1 IRQ 5 Alternatively if your Sound Chip comes up as an WDM Audio Codec, then it should work anyway. Hope this helps

Reply: (edit)There is often a separate set of drivers that you need to install to be able to play in DOS. If you don't have the drivers see if they are at this site. Read all the TEXT files for instructions. http://www.dr-tech.com/drivers/sound.html Good luck

Reply: (edit)I actually said Sound Blaster compatible, most DOS software looks at those settings, by the way what computer and bios (Award etc) do you have?
