Hi,
I had some problem in running scan disk on my Windows95 machine. It tried to fix a file with longer name and failed do so and asked use scandisk for windows. And there after I could not load windows95. Then I booted into Linux thro' LILO. I tried to access files on windows partition. But I could not. Then I tried to reboot again, now it says it can't detect primary hard disk! I tried to detect using setup(cmos) it still says could not detect primary disk.
so what has happened? How can I make it recognise the hard disk? My guess is that hard disk is not failed, but some how it is not being detected.

It is possible that you are having difficulty with anti pirating software in windows. About all you can do whether this is true or not is to remove all partitions and re partition and format. (After you check that the ribbon cable is good and there is power on the drive, naturally)
