I RECENTLY UPGRADED MY OPERATING SYSTEM FROM WINDOWS XP HOME TO WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE IT WORKS FINE FOR ABOUT 2 DAYS BUT THEN THE SCREEN GOES BLANK AND MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM APPEARS AND IT WONT LET ME DO ANYTHING.I RELOAD THE WINDOWS VISTA OPERATING SYSTEM AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS IN 2 DAYS.ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO FIX?

By the way no DOS on starting, no DOS at arrival, so why do you post here?

"Missing Operating System" often means the hard disk is failing. Do you have another disk you can install the OS on?

Hm.. try to check your HD connection to the mother board . IF it's SATA install it to another port. If it's IDE check the jumper. Reintall the IDE cable to the HD and to the mother board. If this still doesn't work replace the SATA or the IDE.

Sometimes missing operating system means you need to fdisk/format your hard disk & then install your operating system.

turn off boot virus protection in the bios before installing the OS.
