Is there anyway to use Net Send with an IP address instead of a computer name? if not, what is the syntax (in lamens terms) to send to a computer in a different workgroup.

Jeff,
What kind of network are you running your net send from? I've never known net send to work with IP addresses, it requires net bios names as far as I know.

with ip number does not work.. BUT :
if you have the ip you can convert it back to the dns name
ping -a -t 123.456.789.0
Ping to Hostname @ 123.456.789.0
works great.
