Comment: Hello all! Thanks so much for your help so far (on another topic on this board) for my memory manager 286 vs 386 problems. Let me quote verbatim from the manual that came with our growth system (for a history of the problem, see the prior post): "Pc Hardware Drivers: The HDW directory contains drivers and support routines needed by various hardware options. The only standard entry in this directory is a subdirectory, \HWD\INTEL, which contains the driver EMM.SYS for the expanded memory board to run large Paragon (the instrument manager software we use) strategies on 286 (AT class) computer systems. Systems with a 386 processor implement expanded memor in the software via a DOS driver. These systems may not ahve a /HDW directory at all" SO, I need this "emm.sys" intel driver business. Anyone have a lead? Everywhere I look seems to only define what this file is for a "history of computing" class or something ;) -jenny

Reply: (edit)Hi Jenny, when you've got time you must go to a friend or neighbour and ask him, if he has a computer with windows 98, 2000, NT or ME (XP too) you go into DOS an then you write out from c the file emm386.sys. you copy it to a floppy disk To copy it, write: C:>copy emm386.sys:a: And when you will install it on your computer you tipped a:>copy emm386.sys:c:>windows This is all. Sorry 4 my bad English. I hope for you, that it run. GOOD LUCK Yours Fenix

Reply: (edit) Thanks for your note, but that's not what I need- that's what would work on a 386. I need this weird driver for a 286.. this is the trouble! -Jenny
