need DOS drivers for external CD-ROM

Comment:
I have a IBM Thinkpad 770 with no OS and an external parallel-port HP CD-Writer Plus 7200 CDRW.
HP does not provide any DOS drivers for their products, and the generic drivers I have tried so far do not work (namely BackPack drivers and SCM Microsystems drivers).
Does anybody know of a DOS driver that would work? Thanks.
