There is a 99.999% chance that Compaq will have no DOS drivers for it (since Compaq sucks), and as such I would suggest you find out who really makes your DVD drive and find their support page - which will probably exist as a link on the aforementioned WinDrivers.com.

have just spoken to Compaq. They definitely do not have any DVD-DOS driver.

This is the solution. Look at the panasonic site, and there you will find your drivers.
