I have a trident 8900d video card that has dip switches on it. Does anyone have the postions to set it for 256 colors. Currently I get a garbled screen when I start up the computer (old 386). I have the drivers for the card but I am unable to install without visual promts on the screen in 16 color mode.

Hi,
If you mean four DIP switches on the back panel, try OFF-ON-ON-OFF. And if this not corrects the situation try all possible combinations - with 4 DIP switches there is only 16 combinations available.
Good luck, Igor M
