believe it or not, people STILL BUY DOS from micrococks (m$) so it is still not classed as abandonware, as it is being sold by the publisher!

not recommend to have 2 sites get snapped for dos when 1 can. my site (here it goes. . . ) is a free site, i have not paid a cent for it over 2 years. and you can see it at http://www.systemtools.20m.com. this is an interlace of dphillip.20m.com

i own both site(s) if you can call them 'differant'.

MS-DOS is not FREEWARE

MS-DOS is not ABANDONWARE

MS-DOS is still a MARKETED PRODUCT

Not that MICRO$OFT sell it in the Stores. But they do sell it for COMPUTER AIDED MANUFACTURING and POINT OF SALES Computers (And that includes Cash Machines!)

IT IS ABOUT TIME MICRO$OFT DID RELEASE IT FOR PRIVATE USE!

I have news (bad news) for you people that think that Microbill should release DOS and old versions of Windoz for "freeware." I ain't ever gonna happen.

There are LOTS and LOTS of software writted by third parties that have not ever been, and probably never WILL be released in this way.

Just because you cannot buy something new, does not make it "freeware."

There are TONS of things like industrial systems, such as alarm systems, telephone systems, and process controllers that use some form or other of MS DOS, either imbedded or on a hd.

I AIN't gonna happen. I don't care how many websites you see it posted on "for free."

Tell ya what. Wanna see someone get aggressive with you? Just TRY posting some Motorola two way radio programming software on a website, or selling on, say, eBay. You'll find out about what lawyers, prosecuters, and the legal system is all about.

Enjoy the U.S. legal system!!

I don't care about abandonware and what have you, everything is availalbe online now. Just do a search. My complaint is that I've owned several versions of DOS, mostly on 5 1/4" floppys. I still have some, but don't care to dust of the ole 486 to do the conversion, it's just easier to d/l from the net. I do not see any thing wrong with abandonware sites providing that software to people like me. Thank you fool for your website. http://www.dphillip.20m.com/dos622.htm
