Your question is very vague and you have posted it in the wrong forum! And please don't post exactly the same question in the wrong forum again! See this thread with responses:

You should try Windows XP Forum, since "Command Prompt" is NOT MS-DOS! WinXP is NT system, which is based on OS/2, not MS-DOS. If you really want to do things in MS-DOS, then you need to install MS-DOS first. But have you installed it yet?

to create a directory that no one can open in DOS ( i.e. ur system boots into MSDOS or evn works with win9x ) u can put up all ur files in the dir and rename the dir to any name + 'hold alt key' give any number that wud put up an char in the dir name which wud be very difficult to know wat the char is as u cant directly open it unless u know the value u hav entered, later add hidden atributes too, the dir will not be accesable by win9x or msdos remember this is only to add a very min* levl of protection thers very simple way to undo the rename too.

just showin up how to protect: (min*)
target is name of folder
*.* my files on some location to be copied / moved

copy *.* c:\target
ren c:\target c:\targetØ
{ Ø -> alt+somenumber char )
