MS-DOS 6.22 on CD

Comment:
I recently purchased a CD that contains both MS-DOS 6.2 and Workgroups for Windows. When I boot the computer with a floppy disk that I made and attempt to launch the setup program in the dos directory on CD, the program gives me an error message reading “Dossetup.ini not found”. I seems to me that an OEM floppy is needed to use this CD. The mom & pop software store I purchased this from is not willing to take it back so I would really like to make it work. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Not 100% sure what your trying to do here.
The message "dosetup.ini not found" is probably generated because the setup program is trying to write to the CD and can't.
Copy all the files in the Dos directory on the CD to a new directory on your hard disk and then run setup from there.

Most of the MS-DOS\Win3x OEM CDs required that you make the three DOS floppy disks using the Makedisk utility on the CDROM. Only Win3x would be installed directly from the CD.

Sometimes you need to have booted with the version of MS-DOS you are going to install. Use a version 6.2 boot disk to be on the safe side. Then try the CD.
