Comment: I have all four of ms-dos 6.22 setup disk images, but I am not sure if they are exact copies of the original disks. Could someone with the original ms-dos 6.22 post an md5, sha1 sum or tell me of some other way to ensure that I have got the right images. Thanks!

Reply: (edit)"not sure if they are exact copies of the original disks." As opposed to what? Try'em out & see if they work - if so, likely close enough Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Reply: (edit)I collect ancient software, so it's not ennough if they just work. I'd like to have perfect bit-by-bit copies of the original disks.

Reply: (edit)... right. Well, if that is your particular obsession, suggest you go & buy an 'original' copy from eBay. It's software, not a Chippendale - arguably the original packaging is collectible, but fretting over (imaginary) differences in a few bytes smacks just a bit of OCD. (and likely pirated copy as well) Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Reply: (edit)Actually, the MSDOS 6.22 set has only three (3) disks. You may have a suplemental or "updates" disk also.
