I cannot copy this file over to he hard drive. It isn't listed on any of the hard drives. But when I type in mscdex.exe it says MSCDEX Version 2.25 already started. Is this still my problem?

I have 2 HDs on te computer and I cannot figure out which is the cd-rom. All prompts when I type in setup say "bad command or file name."

Please help

Try D: Then try E: then try F: first without the cd in the drive then with it in. Determine the drive letter for the cd rom . To see the list of files on it type dir Type cd "win95" or cd osr2 or eng or packages. Look for a directory with a bunch of files of the form-win95_03.cab Type setup

I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows 3.1 I tried to edit my Config and Autoexec. files thru Win 3.1 and when it was time to install my CDRom so that I could to install my Windows 95 Upgrade CD I can't access my CDROM I did install the disk for the setup and copied the Autoexec.bat and Config.sys files but I keep getting this error message after I reboot: c:\>MSCDEX /D:MSCDOO1 /V
bad command or file name
My Autoexec.Bat file reads
C:\Windows\Smartdrv.exe
MSCDEX/D:MSCDOO1 /V
Path=C:|Windows;%Path%
Set Temp=C:\Windows\Temp
My Config.Sys file reads
Device=C:\Windows\Himem.sys
Device=C:cdpro\vide-CCD.Sys /D:mscd001
Device=C:\windows\Smartdrv.exe/Double_Buffer
