Hello

I am very unfamiliar with DOS, hence, my question will be quite silly. I have just downloaded Microsoft Mouse Driver, and it is called 'mouse.exe'. My question is, where do I put the file under to make it work in DOS environments?? I've read some other posts and they say things concerning autoexec.bat, but the instructions were not clear. Can someone help me please?

Also another question related to mouse drivers: My current mouse driver is AlpsGlidePoint, it hangs quite frequently and I am thinking of changing the driver. My question is, how do I go about doing it??

Thank you everyone!! =)

Reply:

go to the dos prompt and then type
edit config.sys press enter
then add this line

device=c:\mouse.exe
c:\being the location of you mouse driver, it is best to put it in you root directory

Put MOUSE.exe in AUTOEXEC.BAT
For the best mouse driver,try CuteMouse 1.9.

yes, Mouse.exe goes in autoexec.bat

if it were mouse.sys, that would go in config.sys
