Try running memmaker. If that fails, take a look in your Autoexec.bat and Config.sys files and see if there is a TSR you can live without.

Nothing said by Bill Gates is guaranteed to be true.

If you have Windows 98, you can't run Memmaker, because it is not included in Windows 95 and later.
If you restart your computer, and press F8 just when it says "Loading Windows 98...", you can select different ways of booting. Choose either 'Failsafe MS-DOS only' or 'step-by step confirmation' and answer 'no' to everything and you will get almost as much memory as is possible. You will, though, not have access to any device drivers or anything like CD-ROM, mouse, expanded memory or such. To get better memory usage, you should edit config.sys and autoexec.bat manually.

TSR stands for 'terminate and stay resident' which means a program that runs (in DOS in this case) and exits, leaving part of it's code in memory, allowing it to do stuff in the background when other applications are running. Common usages for TSRs are CD-ROM drivers, mouse, ramdisks, and stuff like that.

If you download a boot disk, you will be able to boot from the boot disk, change to your hard drive, and run the game from there. You will not need to reinstall anything. Get one of the bootdisks from W0rm (go to http://w0rm.8m.com). They provide a lot of free memory.

You don't need to download a boot disk to load from a diskette. If you have win 3.1 or some other windows running, go to file manager and have a look through the menus, there should be copy system files to diskette. Just pout in empty disk and thats it. Restart computer with disk in drive and it should work. Only problem i encounter with this is that all my disks and hard drive is compressed, lol that means that you can't do it unless have the game on an uncompressed disk. Try it out!

If that doesn't work, type
LOADHIGH
or
LH before th program name to load game in high memory, mostly works but you never know.
