CPU/Ram: p2/350 mhz. 32 mb ram

I have a software u2uadm using which i can transmit and receive files. a program u2utsr resides in memory and keeps checking the outbox of my computer. if there are any pending files it transmits them and receives any files for me from the outbox of the receiver's machine. I have a pure dos machine and the software say modem init err. I am able to run the software from a windows machine and another dos machine. what could be the reason for the modem init err?

my modem is connected to com1.

i am able to dial other telephones using procomm and modem attatched to com1 and com2

please help

The INIT string is the information the software uses to initiate the modem, therefore you need to check the configuration of the DOS dialer software you are using!
