Comment:

I have problem to detect my SmartLink internal Modem for using it under DOS with Arachne.
It works well in my W98, so if I need any info or driver I have, but in pure dos it doesn't work (no detection, no dial)
Arachne is not able to automatically detect.
Do I have to install any driver in my config.sys or just put settings in arachne like port=COM3 and IRQ (Which? 4?)
Any idea?
Here is my log under W98, may be useful to help me

All SmartLink internal Modem are soft modems or WinModems or controllerless modems.

Duh..

DOS requires an actual hardware modem with a controller on it.

The "Windows" drivers and support are far larger than can fit in DOS memory, even if they would work. You will need to buy a real modem to use with DOS. About the only ones you can find now days new are external modems.
