After I boot up my computer it says that I have a bad or missing command.com, and I should specify the location and name of the command interpreter, then show a messed up C-Prompt that looks like this- C> .I am sure that I have a perfect command.com and have tried various boot disks and seperate disks with various versions of the command.com file on them but the computer just goes back to the error message and the messed-up C-Prompt. What should I do in this kind of situation?

Hi,
Boot from diskette and inspect your Config.sys file on C: drive. I think it contains the SHELL command specifying new Command.com location. If that is the case you can either copy Command.com file to the location specified by SHELL, or just remove SHELL line from Config.sys file. This command is needed only in a few rarely cases to increas space for invironment variables storage.
