I turned on my 286 Zenith this morning & it displayed this error for a few seconds & the screen went totally blank. I rebooted numerous times & nothing, just a blank screen. Last week, before it died, it told me I had more memory in the pc than was actually in the machine. Anyone know what parity failure means?

Parity is a means for memory to check itself for errors. If you get a parity error then most likely a stick of memory is bad and needs to be replaced.

Clean the contacts and try it again before you give up on the "bad" memory. (unless memory is soldered into a 286 or something)
